About

When I started this blog, my wife, Eva, was 7 months pregnant with our first child and her mother asked if she could come stay with us.

A bit of background:
Eva's mom has a serious gambling problem, and she abandoned her when she was a young child.

"Why do you always say 'please and thank you'?  you don't have to be nice or polite to family.  I'll teach your child to never say that. "

  1. This is one is true for Chinese peeps, though. It's weird for westerners to hear.

You don't say please or thank you to your friends or your family because you are friends/family and friends/family just do this for you.

At least that's my experience with my students/coworkers in Shenyang.

I have a blog while living here too! http://padenwyatt.com if you're interested.
